Principal's Message

3/06/26

Dear Creekside Families,

We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with you!  Thank you to all who completed our survey last week to share feedback about Creekside’s efforts to live-out its Vision and Mission.  Our Building Leadership Team at Creekside will study the survey results to celebrate the things that are going well and to find areas for continued growth.  We appreciate your feedback, your support, and your partnership.  In the end, it all goes toward helping our Cubs have amazing experiences at Creekside!

Creekside has made supporting student attendance a major focus for our school and families this year - and Creekside families have responded!  The 25-26 school year has proven to have one of the highest levels of attendance success Creekside has seen over the past several years - Thank you, Creekside families!  Our whole-school attendance rating this school year is 94.6%, up from 93.6% at this same time last school year!  Messages about the importance of attendance, support we offer students to help them stay in school, and individualized support when needed are all ongoing efforts to help our students be able to learn and grow by being in school.  We even have student attendance goals in our school’s Building Action Plan!  Of course, keeping our Cubs home when they are sick is important, so we’d never expect our attendance rating to hit 100%.  Still, we’re thrilled to see it continue to rise and thankful for everyone’s emphasis on the importance of our Cubs being at Creekside each day!

As always, if we can do anything to support your child’s attendance, please do not hesitate to reach out.  We’re here to help!

We celebrated Global SEL Day at Creekside this week!  Please check out this amazing video featuring all six Lakota Early Childhood Schools, thanks to our awesome SEL Teachers!

A reminder that there is no school for students on Friday, March 13 due to a Staff Professional Development Day.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Partnering with you to support our Cubs,

Todd Hartman, Principal

When a simple classroom lesson turned into a life-changing project, Creekside Early Childhood School second graders proved that compassion knows no borders. During an English language arts unit on schools around the world, teacher Stephanie Allan shared photos of a school in Malawi, Africa. The images sparked questions - and a desire to help.

Dear Creekside Families,

Thank you so much to our amazing PTO and to all who have already supported Creekside PTO’s Disney Raffle!  All proceeds go right back to Creekside, supporting our students and staff at our school.  Did you know the PTO Disney Raffle funds exciting things for all Cubs?

PTO’s Disney raffle allows PTO to cover the cost of busing for all Cubs on their field trips (Lakota is not allowed to charge families for field trip transportation).  It pays for the Field Trip/Field Day T-shirt each Cub receives and the Sweet Treat Truck all Cubs enjoy during Field Day.  Of course, the extent to which PTO is able to make purchases for our Cubs depends on the total amount raised.  Check out the fun graphic below to see more items PTO is committed to buying at different milestones of our Disney Raffle.

You can buy raffle tickets online for a chance to win one or two $3,000 Disney gift cards by clicking here.  $3,000 goes to the person with the winning ticket, and another $3,000 goes to the family of the student who sold the winning ticket. Our PTO is also sponsoring weekly prizes for the top selling class and a prize for the student who sells the most raffle tickets. All proceeds go toward helping our Cubs and Creekside.  Thanks for supporting our school!

We hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Partnering with you to support our Cubs,

Todd Hartman, Principal
